My annual jaunt around Dinton Pastures was extremely poor. I suspect the cold weather didn't help but the only decent birds were 2 male Mandarin's and a Garden Warbler. Very few warblers and no Nightingales. I suspect next year I won't be doing this walk again as Dinton has deteriorated over the years and is no longer worth a good visit.
Moor Green Lakes was much better with good numbers of hirundines, my first Swift of the year, Common Sandpiper and a cracking Yellow Wagtail on the marsh near the hide.
